📈 Technical Analysis Basics
🔲 Support & Resistance
Support: A price level where buying pressure is strong enough to prevent the price from falling further. Think of it as a "floor" where the stock bounces back up.
Resistance: A price level where selling pressure is strong enough to prevent the price from rising further. Think of it as a "ceiling" where the stock gets pushed back down.
How to use it: Options traders often place strikes at support (for puts) or resistance (for calls) levels. Watch the heatmap to see where high Open Interest clusters—these often align with support/resistance!
📉 Trend Lines
Uptrend: Connect two or more low points on a chart. If the line slopes upward, the stock is trending up. Buy calls or sell puts in uptrends.
Downtrend: Connect two or more high points. If the line slopes downward, the stock is trending down. Buy puts or sell calls in downtrends.
Sideways/Consolidation: Price moves in a range between support and resistance. Good for range-bound strategies like iron condors.
Pro Tip: Combine trend lines with the heatmap! If price breaks above resistance with high call OI, watch for a potential squeeze up.
🔺 Common Chart Patterns
Head & Shoulders: A reversal pattern with three peaks (left shoulder, head, right shoulder). Usually signals a bearish reversal. Look for put-heavy strikes at the "head" level.
Double Top/Bottom: Price hits the same level twice and reverses. Double top = bearish, double bottom = bullish. Check the heatmap at these levels for confirmation.
Triangles: Price consolidates in a narrowing range. Breakouts from triangles often lead to strong moves. Use options to position for the breakout direction.
Cup & Handle: A bullish continuation pattern. The "handle" is often where options traders load up on calls before the next leg up.
📊 Essential Indicators
RSI (Relative Strength Index)
Measures momentum on a 0-100 scale. Above 70 = overbought (may pull back). Below 30 = oversold (may bounce). Use with options to time entries.
MACD (Moving Average Convergence Divergence)
Shows trend direction and momentum changes. When MACD crosses above signal line = bullish. Below = bearish. Aligns with call/put positioning in heatmap.
Moving Averages (MA)
50-day and 200-day MAs are key. Price above both = bullish trend. Price below both = bearish trend. Options OI often clusters around these levels.
Volume
High volume confirms price moves. If price breaks resistance with high volume AND high call OI in heatmap = strong bullish signal!
🎯 Combining Technical Analysis with Options
The Power Combo: When you combine TA patterns with options flow data from the heatmap, you get powerful trading signals!
Bullish Setup: Stock breaks above resistance + RSI above 50 + High call OI at that level = Strong buy signal
Bearish Setup: Stock breaks below support + RSI below 50 + High put OI at that level = Strong sell signal
Gamma Flip Zone: Where calls transition to puts (zero gamma). Often aligns with major support/resistance. Price gets "pinned" here.

📊 What is a Heatmap?
A heatmap shows where options traders have placed big bets. Each cell represents a strike price (row) and expiration date (column). Colors tell you if the market is bullish (blue/green) or bearish (red/orange).
🎨 Understanding Colors
Blue = Most Bullish
Green = Bullish
Yellow = Neutral
Orange = Bearish
Red = Most Bearish
💰 Cell Values
Each cell shows the Net Option Value - the total dollar amount of all options contracts at that strike/expiration. Hover over any cell to see detailed Greeks (Delta, Gamma, Theta, Vega, Rho) and Open Interest.
💡 Pro Tips
Look for high concentrations of red or blue - these are areas where the market expects big moves!
High Open Interest (OI) at a strike price acts like a "magnet" for the stock price
